Money and Tipping

Norway's currency is the Norwegian Krone (NOK). Euros may accepted. Though not expected, a small tip (5-10%) is usually appreciated when dining in restaurants if you are happy with the service.

Local Transportation

You shouldn't need to use local transportation since cruise ships dock beside downtown. City Sightseeing runs a Hop On, Hop Off bus service for 200 NOK (June 2014). https://www.citysightseeing.no/

• Fjellsta Viewpoint - Only a short distance from the city center with magnificent views. The 418 steps to the top should only take 20 minutes but there is also access by a road around the back.
• Sukkertoppen (Sugar Top) - you can hike to this peak southwest of the city center. See Tripadvisor for info though the trail is marked on google maps.
• Aalesunds Museum
• Art Nouveau Centre
• The Atlantic Sea-Park
