Apia, Samoa

Upolu beach

Introduction

Apia is the capital of Samoa on the north side of the island of Upolu. Samoa is known for it's beautiful beaches which are on the south side of the island. Many seasons of the American TV series Survivor were filmed here.

Where You're Docked

Cruise ships dock at a pier on the north eastern end of Apia Harbor. The town center is a 20 minute walk away.

Money and Tipping

Samoa's currency is the Tala (WST). US and Australian dollars may be accepted. Tipping is not expected in this region of the world.

Local Transportation

You will need to take a tour, hire a taxi, or rent a car to get out to the beaches.

• Papaseea Sliding Rocks - Mother nature's water slide. Close to Apia. Keep an eye on your belongings here.
• Return to Paradise Beach - Beach made famous by the movie.

• To Sua Ocean Trench - A large swimming hole accessed by a ladder

Shopping & Restaurants

There are supermarkets on beach road by the town center and a farmer's market further inland. Aggie Grey's Resort close to the pier has a poolside bar and restaurant.

Internet

Restaurants and cafes may provide free wifi to customers. Try the restaurants along Beach Road.
