IntroductionGrand Turk is the capital of the Turks and Caicos. The island is very small and only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide. There is a nice beach here with free loungers, shops and restaurants including a large Margaritaville with an outdoor pool. Most visitors don't leave this area. Local TransportationSince the island is so small, there aren't many transportation options. You can rent a car or hire a taxi at the cruise terminal but there isn't much to see. Bike rentals may be also be available. SightsThere is a lighthouse on the north end of the island. If you want to get away from the crowds, try White Sands Beach on the other side. The beach directly south of the cruise pier is Conch Graveyard. You may be able to find a nice shell here but give it a good cleaning and make sure it's empty.
