Guernsey's currency is the British Pound (GBP) but Guernsey's banks issue their own coins and notes. English Sterling currency is accepted everywhere and tends to be mixed in with the local currency. When making a purchase in cash, ask for the change in Sterling since it is very difficult to exchange Guernsey currency outside of the island. Banks should exchange Guernsey Pounds to Sterling for no charge. Though not expected, a small tip (5-10%) is appreciated when eating at restaurants or taking a taxi.
Local TransportationSights in the city can be easily reached on foot though some parts are hilly. There is a bus network on the island. Route 91 does a clockwise loop of the island for 2 GBP. http://www.buses.gg HotelsSearch hotels in St Peter Port here Sights
