Introduction

Where You're Docked

Ships may dock at several different piers just west of the city centre though the main cruise pier is the most south. All piers are within walking distance into the city.

Money and Tipping

Norway's currency is the Norwegian Krone (NOK). Euros may accepted in shops and restaurants.

Local Transportation

You shouldn't need to use local transportation since most sites are in the city center.

Sights

  • Fiskerbrygga - the local fish market (not open Sundays)
  • Ravnedalen - a nice park 10 min from the city centre.
  • Cannon Museum - for those interested in WWII history

The Tourist Office is at RÃ¥dhusgata 6, not far from the port.

Shopping & Restaurants

The main shopping areas are Markensgate, the pedestrianised high street, and Skippergata.
