Introduction

Port Vila is the capital and largest city in Vanuatu and situated on the island of Efate.

Where You're Docked

Cruise ships dock at the commercial pier approx 5 kilometers southwest of the town center. A shuttle bus service may be provided by locals to get you from the pier into town.

Some ships may tender into the city.

Money and Tipping

Vanuatu's currency is the Vatu (VUV) though Australian dollars may be accepted in touristy places. Tipping is not expected in this region of the world.

Local Transportation

Buses and taxis are the best ways to get around. The buses operate more like shared taxis.

• Mele Cascade Falls - a series of pools and falls and a popular attraction. You can abseil the falls as with several tour companies.
