Riga

Introduction

Riga is the capital and largest city of Latvia.

Where You're Docked

Cruise ships mainly dock on the river fairly close to the old town though smaller ships may dock a bit
more south. Cruise ships have also been known to dock at Krievu Island (Krievu Sala) much further out.

Money and Tipping

Latvia converted to the Euro (EUR) in Jan 2014. As in the rest of Europe, a small (5-10%) tip is appreciated when dining at restaurants.

Local Transportation

The old town area is small and easily walkable from the cruise pier.
