Introduction

Vigo is a port city on the northwest coast of Spain. Santiago de Compostela with its large cathedral and destination of pilgrims walking Camino de Santiago is 60 miles north of Vigo.

Money and Tipping

Spain's currency is the Euro (EUR). In Europe, it is common to round up the bill to leave a small tip (5-10%).

Local Transportation

Trains run direct to Santiago de Compostela from Vigo and the journey takes around an hour and a half. the train station in Vigo is approximately a mile southeast of the the cruise pier. Fare is approx €10 one way (July 2012). Check train schedules here. http://www.renfe.com/
