Introduction

Where You're Docked

The Cape Town Cruise Terminal is situated on E-Berth in the Duncan Dock. It is within walking distance of the city, and on the doorstep of the V&A Waterfront with shops, restaurants, hotels and entertainment options. The terminal provides amenities such as customs and immigration check-ins, baggage collection, foreign exchange, restaurants, and a variety of transport and tourism information services.

Visas

Passports must also be valid for at least six months after arrival in South Africa.

Money and Tipping

South Africa's currency is the Rand (ZAR). Credit cards are accepted in the majority of businesses. Servers at sit down restaurants should be tipped 10-20% for good service. For taxi drivers, round up the fare to 10R.

Local Transportation

MyCiTi is a bus rapid transit system with Waterfront station 150 meters from the Cape Town Cruise Terminal. https://www.myciti.org.za/ City Sightseeing offers hop-on, hop-off buses with a stop at the Solo District 5 minutes away. https://www.citysightseeing.co.za/cape-town Car hire is available at the Quays District.

Getting to/from the Airport

The Silo District is the closest shopping and restaurant area and is located directly beside the cruise terminal to the north. V&A Waterfront is next to the Silo District.
