Introduction

Valletta is ancient walled city and the capital of Malta.

Where You're Docked

Money and Tipping

Malta's currency is the Euro (EUR). In Europe, it is common to round up the bill to leave a small tip (5-10%).

Local Transportation

Valletta can be explored on foot but other cities can be visited by taking the bright yellow buses from the bus terminal outside the main gate. The bus routes spoke out from Valletta and only display the route number so make sure you get on the correct one. Fares range from 0.47 to 0.58 EUR.

Sites

  • St John's Cathedral - With all the churches in Europe and the majority not requiring an entry fee, you may wonder if it is worth it to pay to see this church. With the ornate decorations inside, this is one of the most lavish churches in Europe and definitely worth the admission. Entry €6. http://stjohnscocathedral.com/
